Purpose of Career Week
The career week is designed as a targeted initiative to prepare GED students for the workforce by offering exposure to various career paths, earn-as-you-learn opportunities, and networking opportunities. By the end of career week, students are better prepared to take their next steps, whether that involves securing employment, entering vocational training programs, or pursuing higher education opportunities.
Main Objectives include:
Career Exploration: Introducing students to a range of industries, job roles, and potential career paths that align with their interests and skills.
Networking Opportunities: Connecting students with professionals, mentors, and potential employers to build relationships that can support their career aspirations.
Building Confidence: Encouraging students to identify their strengths and develop a sense of readiness for entering the workforce or pursuing further education.
Resource Access: Providing students with tools, such as career assessments, job application tips, and access to community resources that can aid in their career journey.
Additional companies will be added as the events are announced
